Many of newbie bloggers or even the people who started to blogging a while ago
quit blogging just because they don’t see any traffic from their blogs. The
blogosphere is a big and busy world with over 100 million blogs and growing. How
do you attract visitors to your blog? Follow these simple tips to drive traffic
to your blog.
There were the 15 steps that you should follow to boost the traffic to your new blog. Have I missed something? Write comments and tell me what I have missed.
How the blogger boost the traffic to a new Blog?
1) Catchy Title and Niche Content
Simply follow the rule (Write well and write often). Start posting useful
and interesting posts and consider that your post should have a catchy title
to make the visitor start reading your post and consider the niche content
to make the visitor keep reading it.
Second thing here is to frequently and always update your blog with useful
and interesting content because this is the first step of boosting the
traffic. Cause be sure that the visitor will come back for more if you do
that.
Furthermore, posting frequently would increase the number of chances you
have for your blog’s content to be noticed by search engine
2) Blog Comments
When we are talking about Blogs, then we are talking about comments. Commenting is
a simple and essential tool to increase your blog's traffic.
I would write a post about the importance and some tips regarding blog
comments but for now just follow these tips:
- Respond to comments on your blog to show the readers that you care and you value their opinions and make it like a two-way conversation and that will increase the reader loyalty.
- Leave comments on others blog to drive new traffic. And make sure that it’s a valuable comment and don’t spam others blogs by leaving one liner comments.
- Leave your blog URL in your comment to create a back link to your blog. If your comment was interesting and meaningful the other blog commenter’s will most likely visit your blog.
- Comment on the top blogs in your niche and try to be in the first 5 commenter.Subscribe to their RSS Feeds to get the posts once they post it and then comment on their posts. Comment on the blogs of your nicheYou can get the top blogs in your niche if you search in Google for (“Your niche+Blogs”) Ex. Blogging +Blogs
As we mentioned before to subscribe to others feed in the blogs of your
niche, have to set up an RSS
feed button
on your blog makes it easy for your loyal readers to not just read your blog
but also know when you publish new content and that leads them back to your
blog.
4) Spend time on writing detailed articles.
You think that you are going to bring quality traffic without much effort?
I think it’s time to quit thinking that way. You need to be unique and be
different from the others to become successful and to survive in the
blogosphere. I know it takes time to create some quality content but believe
me it worth it. Don’t spend your whole time posting normal or average 600
words posts. Try to spend some
more time to create great content and write detailed posts with 1000+ words
once in an awhile. If you are a part time blogger then just try at least to
write 1000+ words post once a month. This kind of posts will bring quality
traffic to your blog.
5) Blogroll
Use and update your blogroll by
adding links to sites you like in it, the owners of those blogs will find
your blog and will be likely to add a reciprocal link in their blogrolls.
It's an easy way to get the link to your blog in front of many readers on
other blogs. The hope is that some of those readers will click on the link
to your blog on the other blogs' blogrolls and find your content interesting
and enjoyable turning them into loyal readers.
The magic word for boosting the traffic is NETWORK. The more and the large
networks the blogger got the more traffic they would have.
We will write detailed articles about social bookmarking, social networks
and social media web sites to help you get traffic to your web site but for
now start singing up for those and take time to submit your best posts to social
bookmarking sites
such as Digg,StumbleUpon, Reddit and
more cause this is the simple way to quickly boost traffic to your blog.
And of course make an account on Facebook and twitter. It’s easy to follow
and let others follow you and so easy to spread a word. These Social
Networks consider one of the most important ways to boost the traffic so
it’s time to start BEING SOCIAL. J
Facebook: Join
in Groups... Promote yourself out there... Facebook will get you a huge
traffic with less effort. You may find it difficult in the beginning but
when you start promoting others content and
when you get to know each other on Facebook, it becomes very easy!
Twitter: Follow
top bloggers in your niche and follow their followers. This is the simple
yet effective way of increasing your targeted twitter followers. Once you
have done this, you can tweet your new articles and ask your followers to
retweet it.
Always try to retweet and promote your fellow bloggers before asking them to
promote your content. This can make others to promote your content sooner or
later and you will have high chances of getting their attention if they find
it useful.
7) Video Marketing:
Submit them to YouTube, metacafe etc. We will write a detailed article about video marketing cause it's extremely important and very powerful way to boost the traffic to any website.
8) Remember Search Engine Optimization
Don’t forget SEO, when you
write your blog posts and pages, remember to optimize your pages for search
engines to find them. Most
people say forget about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) when you’re just
starting out. I think that’s the dumbest suggestion!
You need to include
relevant keywords and links, and
do proper keyword analysis before you’re writing the articles. Then embed
them into your posts. But
don't overload your posts with too many relevant keywords or completely
irrelevant keywords. Doing so can be considered spamming and could have
negative results such as your blog being removed from Google's search
entirely. It’s
extremely important to bring organic (search engine) traffic to your blog.
Because it’s free and highly effective!
If you’re a beginner then this is enough! Don’t go beyond, you’ll better
understand about SEO when you’re spending more time on blogging.
Links are
one of the most powerful parts of your blog. Not only are links noticed by
search engines, but they also act as a tap on the shoulder to other bloggers
who can easily identify who is linking to their sites. Linking helps to get
you noticed by other bloggers who are likely to investigate the sites that
are linking to them. This may lead them to become new readers of your blog
or to add links to your blog from theirs.
You can take links to other blogs a step further by leaving a trackback on
the other blog to let them know you've linked to them. Blogs that allow
trackbacks will include a link back to your blog in the comments section of
the post that you originally linked to. People do click on trackback links!
10) Tag Your Posts
It takes a few extra seconds to add tags to
each of your blog posts, but it's worth the time in terms of the additional
traffic tags can drive to your blog. Tags (like links) are easily noticed by
search engines. They're also a key to helping readers find your blog when
they perform searches on popular blog search engines such as Technorati.
11) Don't Forget Images
Images don't just make your blog look pretty; they also help people find you
in search engine listings. People often use the image search options offered
by Google, Yahoo! and other search engines, and naming your images with
search engine optimization in mind can easily boost your traffic.
12) Consider Guest Blogging
Guest blogging can be done when you write a guest post on another blogger's
blog or when another blogger writes a guest post on your blog. Both methods
are likely to increase traffic as your blog will be exposed to the other
blogger's audience. Many of the other blogger's readers will visit your blog
to see what you have to say. But I would recommend this way when you have an
online reputation Major
reason is without having any online reputation you can’t cope up with other
bloggers to get accepted your guest posts. When they reject you, you’ll feel
down to submit another guest post to them.
13) Promote Outside Your Blog
Promoting your blog shouldn't stop when you step outside the blogosphere.
Add your blog's URL to your email signature and business cards. Talk about
it in offline conversations. It's important to get your name and your blog's
URL noticed offline, too.
14) Nominate Yourself and Other Blogs for Blog Awards
There are a number of blog awards given out throughout the year. Nominating
yourself and other blogs and bloggers can draw attention to your blog and
drive traffic to it.
15) Don't Be Shy
The most important part of the blogosphere is its community and much of your
success as a blogger will be tied to your willingness to network with that
community. Don't be afraid to ask questions, join conversations or just say
hi and introduce yourself. Don't sit back and hope the
